Speed enforcement at the A30 junction with Brook Street

Dear Warminster NPT

Below is a summary of my speed enforcement activity in support of Project Zero, Wiltshire Police’s Road Safety Campaign. This will be forwarded to others in Wiltshire Police, including the PCC. You are welcome to share the contents of this letter with the rest of your team.

Hello All,
Speed Enforcement recorded 14 vehicles speeding on 17 June 2026 in Fovant on the A30 near Brook Street.

This stretch of road has a clearly displayed speed limit of 30mph. The fastest vehicles were all recorded travelling at 40mph. On the day in question, it was sunny and roads were dry.

Flashing lights at other drivers is illegal and has no effect on long-term driving behaviour: drivers who are in the habit of speeding will continue to speed until they are caught. If you have friends or family who like to warn others of enforcement ahead, but don’t like people speeding in the place where they live, please politely ask them to stop and help us make our roads safer.

Depending on previous convictions and history, 14 drivers will be offered a speed awareness course.
Proceedings will now be undertaken to ensure the most appropriate outcome for the offenders takes place.
